NoteTab Light 6.2

There are a lot of things you are going to like about the Fookes Software-developed application NoteTab Light. The first thing you are going to like is that getting the application off the web and onto your computer will only take a very short while. Since the download weighs in at less than 2Mb, it can’t take long for it to complete, now can it?

Once the download completes, it is time to install the application. You will like that installing NoteTab Light on your Windows-powered computer is a smooth, straightforward process. Speaking of Windows, you will like that NoteTab Light works with just about any version of the Microsoft-developed operating system. This includes the latest and greatest (at the time of writing this), Windows 7.

Then once NoteTab Light is up and running, you will like that it doesn’t ask you for money. This application is provided free of charge. The downside here is that there are two other NoteTab versions: Standard and Pro. These versions come with several features that are not available in the Light version – like customizable menu shortcuts and spell checker. You can try these features free of charge in NoteTab Light for a trial period of 30 days.

Speaking of features, here is the sort of functionality you can expect to get from NoteTab Light:
- Tabbed interface
- Edit several documents at once
- Open documents up to 2GB in size
- Disk search feature
- Read Outline and EBCDIC files

And here is the functionality you are missing out on by going with NoteTab Light instead of NoteTab Pro, the top of the line version:

- Syntax highlighting

- And others.

The bottom line is that NoteTab Light is a free, properly good text editor and a good alternative to NotePad.
